EAST BAY / ESTUARY RACE

Additions to the 1998 Standard Sailing Instructions
Skippers are responsible for knowing the Standard Sailing Instructions and any changes to these instructions as may be presented at the skippers meeting.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a new race course and may undergo minor modifications. Please watch for future announcements.

DIVISIONS
There will be both singlehanded and doublehanded divisions in each class.

SKIPPER'S MEETING
There will be a skipper's meeting on Wednesday, September 9, at 7:30pm at the Oakland Yacht Club.

TROPHY PRESENTATION
There will be a trophy presentation on Wednesday, September 23, at 7:30 pm at the Oakland Yacht Club.
 
STARTING TIMES AND SIGNALS
Warning White/Yellow 10:00
Preparatory Blue 10:05
Division I - Multihulls Red 10:10
Division II - PHRF 126 & under Red 10:15
Division III - PHRF 127 to 168 Red 10:20
Division IV - PHRF 169 & over Red 10:25
Division V - Non-Spinnaker Red 10:30

STARTING LINE
A line between Berkeley Circle bouy "E" and the Committee Boat leaving the buoy to starboard.
NOTE: A temporary Race Bouy may be in place of the permanent bouy.

COURSE
From the start by any course to the Brothers leaving them to port, then to Southampton shoals (E Int R 6 sec 32ft 6M bell) leaving it to starboard, then to Little Harding buoy (G "1" Fl G 4 sec) leaving it to port then by any course to the finish.

FINISH
The finish line is a line between an orange panel on the Oakland Yacht Club race deck and a temporary mark set in the Oakland Estuary off of docks 5 & 6.

CHECK IN
Check in via VHF channel 69 prior to starting the race is mandatory.

CALCULATED DISTANCE
The calculated distance for the race is 25 miles.

TIME LIMIT
The time limit for the race is 1800 hours on Saturday, September 12, 1998.
