Solitaire 24-03 156-31 230M 7.5kts 197mtgCraig Haggart of the Race Committee jury-rigged an antenna North-South the width of the RC living room in Hanalei, so we could listen in on this evening's checkin on our portable shortwave receiver. Quite a treat to hear Bravo calling in to Avalon in Alameda, and even get occasional echoes of Avalon's responses. Fortunately, Etosha was also participating in the roll-call from his anchorage in Hanalei Bay, and was able to fill in all the numbers we missed. OK, the MAJORITY of the numbers. Still and all, a victory for Radio-Shack science (and thanks in particular to Heli for remembering to bring the paper clips with which we connected the antenna.)
Bravo reports being in squalls today, making good speed under main & wung out jib. Also cleaning up the spaghetti factory in the cockpit.... Harrier reports his first spinnaker casualty of the trip - pretty good compared to the shredding on some past trips.
